Eye Surface Profiler

Eye Surface Profiler

Achieve the next level in Scleral Lens Fitting

We all want the best outcomes for our patients

As an advanced scleral fitter you feel comfortable fitting specialty lenses in general and have ample experience determining the central sag of a scleral lens. You also have fitted plenty of toric haptics on eyes. Exactly because you have seen so many scleral fits, you will have encountered complex cases where even a toric haptic wouldn’t lead to a good patient outcome.

  • Advanced Measurement – Full 3D coverage of cornea, limbus and large part of the sclera. Precise calculation of SAG, toricity and elevation
  • Advanced Fit – Achieve up to 85% first lens success rate. Make informed decisions on quad specific and bi-toric lens designs. Reach for customized fits for those most irregular ocular surface
  • Advanced Patient Care – Track your patient as keratoconus progresses and make confident assessment of lens design changes or even modality switches along the way

How Height Measurement Helps Scleral Lens Fitting

Unleash the full power of 3D Profilometry to get on top of the most complex cases. Use measured data to make informed decisions and to take away the guesswork. In essence:

  • Troubleshoot
  • Customized Fit
  • Patient Management

Imagine using a tool that perfectly measures the irregularities of the entire eye surface and matches the results with the shape of the scleral lens. With an accurate 3D height map that now becomes reality.

Instrument Aided Fitting with the Eye Surface Profiler (ESP) will give you the high quality 3D data of the front surface of the eye and the First Lens Fitting Algorithms will guide you to the best results. This way you are able to solve the most complex of cases and expand your patient care.

Troubleshoot - Scleral Lens Fitting

Troubleshoot

Many of the most common scleral lens complications can be improved by a better fit. Flexure, midday fogging, bubbles, bulbar conjunctival redness and conjunctival prolapse are among the difficulties facing scleral lens fitters. Take control of the troubleshooting with accurate ocular surface data by the ESP.

Achieve customized Scleral Lens Fit

Customized Fit

Sometimes ocular surfaces are of such irregularity that even toric haptic scleral lenses don’t lead to a comfortable scleral fit. A more customized fit is required such as a bi-toric or quadrant specific design. However, fitting a customized scleral lens will exponentially increase complexity. Profilometry driven 3D ocular surface data will enable you to make the right lens design decisions.

Height Measurement of the Ocular Surface for better patient management

Patient Management

Pathologic ocular surfaces evolve over time and with treatment. It is important to track these changes in ocular shape and to be able to make informed decisions on when to change the lens design or even the lens modality. Sophisticated ESP software allows you to manage your patient over time and make informed decisions as pathologies progress and the patient ages.

Level Up Your Practice with the ESP

The Eaglet-Eye Eye Surface Profiler (ESP) offers more features than any previous standard topographer. Our revolutionary topographer is the first to offer profiling, not only of the cornea, but also right across the limbus and over a large portion of the sclera.

In this interview at the GSLS 2019 Dr. Tom Arnold explains how using the Eye Surface Profiler helps in achieving better patient outcomes.

Imagine the impact on your scleral lens practice:

  • 2 micron corneal accuracy and 10 micron scleral accuracy
  • Lab independent platform giving you the freedom to work with your preferred lenses
  • Fit a scleral lens is 3 easy steps in the ESP software
  • Let the algorithm do the hard work so you can do the smart work
  • Saving you chair time and giving you optimized fitting on even the most complex eyes

WHY DO WE ACHIEVE BETTER PATIENT OUTCOMES

Shorter Chair Time

By getting the first lens fit closer to the actual shape of the eye, using the ESP will lead to at least 50% less refits!

More Options

More than 35 lens designs integrated. Choose the best lens for the best patient outcome every time.

Comfortable Fit

Unprecedented measuring accuracy across the cornea, the limbus and large areas of the sclera.

Happier Patients

Patients get better fitting lenses. This means more repeat business and less drop out.

How we reduce refits by up to 50%

Lens returns constitute a negative experience, both for the practitioner and the patient. If the number of refits were to be kept to a minimum the benefits for all parties involved would be clear.

In a recent study we compared the results for a Zenlens fitting for 40 eyes between the diagnostic fitting method and the recommendations from the ESP fitting algorithm.

In this study the diagnostic method led to an average of 3 fittings before the best fit was achieved. In contrast, 85% of the lenses recommended by the ESP fitting algorithm concurred with the final lens fitted on the eye in the diagnostic fashion.

This study shows that the number of refits can easily be reduced conservatively by 40-50% by using the Eye Surface Profiler! Because even if the first recommended lens is not optimal, the ESP gives such rich and valuable data that the next lens will be the right one.
